How it works

  • After you make initial contact we’ll set a time for our first meeting. During this time you can ask questions related to my experience, what I can offer etc. Well chat about pricing, how my services work and a general idea of what you’re thinking/planning for your birth. Basically we spend some time getting a sense of if we’re a good fit. Your other birthing support people are also very welcome to attend with you.

  • We’ll likely meet 1-2 more times during your pregnancy just to build a relationship and to practise some comfort measures that I’ll use during your labour for you to get a sense of what to expect.  At our first meeting we’ll sign a contract that clearly states expectations for both of us, and other logistical things. At this time a $300 deposit is due. â€‹

  • Full payment can be made either in one lump or in installments. I am flexible and often work on a sliding scale. Any remaining balance is due by 37 weeks gestation. At this time I’ll send an invoice as a friendly reminder. â€‹

  • My on-call period begins at 38 weeks (2 weeks before your due date) and will end with a birthday party! :) At this point I will be available to you 24/7. â€‹

  • As soon as you suspect you’re in labour you can let me know so I can begin to coordinate my kiddos. We’ll stay in contact until you’re feeling ready for extra support and I’ll join you.                       â€‹

  • During your postpartum period if you choose, I’ll visit you at your home and be your second set of hands. To get caught up on house work, watch the baby so you can nap, cook you a meal etc. Whatever you might need. I leave the timing of this up to you, but postpartum visits are typically completed before your baby is 6 weeks old.
